How to access my Gross Sales Report
You can easily access your Gross Sales Report on 5AVE.com seller dashboard. It gives you detailed information about your 5AVE.com transactions and may provide insights on how to improve your sales. Your Gross Sales Report may be helpful when preparing your taxes, if applicable.
With Gross Sales Reports, you can keep track of your sales, successful listings, average sale price, sales growth, and your total profit.
With your Gross Sales Report, you can also:
- Customize the date or date ranges for the report to better review your sales activities.
- Review your sold items, as well as in-process and canceled orders.
- View item prices, shipping costs, 5AVE.com fees, any sales taxes, and more.
- Find specific details relating to your 1099-K, if you meet 1099-K reporting requirements. Visit our 1099-K Related FAQs for more information.
- See your sales profits and your transaction fee and cost details. These may help you with your tax reporting obligations.
- View the detailed sales tax amounts that 5AVE.com has collected from buyers and remitted to the state taxing authorities on your behalf under Marketplace Facilitator sales tax laws. Visit our Sales Tax Policy for more information.

What information is included in the Gross Sales Report
- Item ID
A unique identifier for your item (note your item ID always begins with “m” and can be found on the order status page) - Sold Date
The date your item was purchased by the Buyer - Canceled Date
The date when the order was canceled and the process begins to refund the Buyer - Completed Date
The date when seller rates, or 5AVE.com auto-rates the order after a prescribed period of time, completing the order and your net sales proceeds were added to your 5AVE.com balance - Item Title
The item headline description - Order Status
The state of the order based on the date you generate the report: Completed, Canceled or In Progress (item sold but not yet completed or canceled) - Shipped to State
The state your item was delivered to - Shipped from State
The state your item was shipped from - Item Price
The final selling price of the item paid to the Seller (included in Gross Payments) - Buyer Shipping Fee
The separately stated cost of shipping paid by the Buyer, if applicable (included in Gross Payments) - Gross Payments
The total amount processed by 5AVE.com including Item Price, Buyer Shipping Fee (if applicable), Sales Tax Charged to Buyer (if applicable), and any merchant fees charged to Buyer for all completed sales during the calendar year. What expenses can I report in my tax return?
While we cannot advise our sellers on how to report their sales on their tax returns, we do provide a Gross Sales Report to assist you and/or your tax advisor to help with your tax reporting.
As a general secondhand marketplace, we do not have the original cost of your sold items or other costs incurred to sell your item on 5AVE.com. But all other 5AVE.com shipping costs and fees and applicable sales taxes paid for completed orders can be found in the Gross Sales Report. 5AVE.com fees only apply for completed orders. We provide estimated costs for orders in progress, which may also be found in your sales report.
5AVE.com recommends that you consult your tax advisor about any gross amounts and associated eligible deductions you may need to report on your tax return. It is solely your responsibility to report amounts and deductions for any fees or charges to sell your items on 5AVE.com.

If you think your account has been taken over, try these steps:
- Log in to your account and see if your account details have been changed
- Double check your email, phone number, shipping address, payment methods, and bank account
- Check if any orders were made or if any new items were listed
- Check if any cashouts were made
- Change your password

When am I notified for account security?
We’ll notify you when there’s a login from a new device or when there are updates to your account details.
2-step verification
2-step verification (also known as two-factor authentication) adds an extra layer of security to your account. Every time you log in, we’ll send you an SMS verification code to verify that you’re the one logging in.
To start, first make sure you have a verified phone number. Then go to your 5AVE.com app and then your Settings and tap on “Account security.” You can opt-in by tapping the toggle.
I can’t use my phone for 2-step verification or I can’t receive a text right now

Why do I need to verify my account?
We want to keep your account safe and secure at all times. We occasionally ask users to verify their account with an SMS code to make sure only the account owner can log in.
Note: Some VoIP phone numbers can’t receive texts from a shortcode number.

I’m not a professional seller. What does this mean for me?
Our Pro Sellers have the ability to bulk import items and access to other tools that help them manage their operations at scale. If you don’t qualify as a 5AVE.com Pro Seller, no worries. This won’t impact your status as one of our valued sellers.
Continue to work towards earning and maintaining all of your badges. Plus, be sure to verify your account to earn further trust in the 5AVE.com marketplace.

What is profile verification?
Your safety on our marketplace is our top priority. We want to make sure that you’re interacting with trustworthy people. To continue building a trusted marketplace, we ask users to verify their 5AVE.com Profile. Verification lets other users and 5AVE.com know you’re really you, helps reduce marketplace fraud, and can help in the recovery of a lost account. While profile verification does help build trust, we do want you to know that completing this process isn’t an endorsement of any seller or buyer. We can’t fully confirm someone’s identity or guarantee that it’s safe to interact with them. Always use your best judgment and follow our Safety Guidelines. The information you provide will only be used for profile verification and will not be sold or rented to third parties without your consent. Other users won’t be able to view your private information, including but not limited to your government ID, selfie, and cell phone number. Profile verification is good to complete for all types of 5AVE.com users. Sellers can feel more confident shipping to verified buyers while shoppers can feel more confident buying from verified sellers. You also earn a badge for your profile, letting others know you’re really you. Some verification are necessary to unlock certain marketplace features, like Instant Pay, or to clear alerts on your account.How do I earn the 5AVE.com profile verification badge?
On the mobile app, go to your profile and find the Trust & Verification section. From here you can see what you’ve already completed and what still needs to be verified. We’ve revamped our profile verification. This means you’ll need to complete all three of these to earn the profile verification badge. The requirements are:- Verified Email

Email address
To verify your email address, click on the link in the verification email we’ve sent to you. Or you can go to Profile > Trust & Verification > Email and you’ll receive a new verification email. Note: The link is only valid for 24 hours. Don’t worry! If you miss this window, go back to the app and tap to get a new verification email.SMS
To verify your phone number, just enter your phone number during the signup process or go to Profile > Trust & Verification > Phone Number. You’ll receive an automated message with a 4-digit verification code. If your device is unable to receive text messages, you can also request to receive your verification code by a phone call. If you’re using 5AVE.com from a device that can’t receive text messages or phone calls (e.g. a tablet), please use your mobile phone number and check your phone for the verification code. After verifying your phone number, you will not receive any calls or text messages from 5AVE.com. Note: 5AVE.com is unable to verify international, prepaid, or VoIP phone numbers.Government ID
To verify your government ID, go to Profile > Trust & Verification > Government ID and you’ll be taken through the steps to upload your government ID. How it works Click to upload your ID along with a selfie. Your ID will be checked against the photo you upload. Getting your ID verified for your 5AVE.com Profile may take up to 48 hours. What happened to my confirmed badges?
We’ve combined all of the confirmed badges into one badge. So other users only need to look for one badge to know you’ve completed all of your verifications. Missing profile verification? To keep our marketplace safe, we want to double check that you’re really you. On occasion, we ask users to submit a government ID or complete identity verification by providing your name, address, social security number, and date of birth. There are a number of reasons we may require more information from you, such as:- A transaction is flagged by a payment processor or system as unusual and we need more information to proceed
- For identity theft prevention
- To lift a limit or unlock an account feature
- To meet a regulatory requirement to verify identity
W-9 Related FAQs
Why is 5AVE.com requesting my tax identification information?
Third Party Networks (such as our 5AVE.com marketplace) use IRS Form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number (“TIN”) and Certification, to obtain tax identification information from individuals and sellers who receive reportable payments stemming from marketplace transactions during the calendar year. When required, Third Party Networks subsequently provide this information to the IRS and applicable state taxing authorities by filing a Form 1099-K information return. For more information, please refer to this IRS publication, provided by the IRS.What information is required?
You will need to provide 5AVE.com with your tax and certain personal information in order for 5AVE.com to file a complete and accurate 1099-K tax information return, should you meet the filing requirements. 5AVE.com will verify this tax identification information with third party verification providers and applicable federal and state taxing authorities. During this process 5AVE.com may request additional information. This tax and personal information includes the following:- Legal First and Last name
- Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)
- Mailing Address
- Tax Classification (Reporting status for income tax purposes i.e. individual v. business)
- Legal Name of Entity (if different from individual)
- Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Registered Business Name/Disregarded Entity Name/Doing Business As (DBA), if any
- Registered address of entity
Why do I need to provide my Tax Identification Number?
5AVE.com requires tax identification numbers to verify that the owner of the 5AVE.com account matches the information on record with the IRS and applicable state taxing authorities. This verification is also necessary to ensure that the 1099-K information associated with the 5AVE.com seller account is properly reported to the tax authorities. If you’re not eligible for a social security number, you can provide an Individual Tax ID Number (ITIN). Please note that additional information may be requested after providing your Tax Identification Number.How frequently will I need to update my W-9 information?
You will need to update and/or confirm your W-9 information once each applicable calendar year to sell on 5AVE.com if you meet the IRS gross payments reporting thresholds.Why am I not given the option to provide a FATCA exemption code when completing my W-9?
The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) requires certain foreign (non US) financial institutions to report all United States account holders that are specified as United States persons. Specified FATCA exemption codes are not applicable as 5AVE.com does not currently permit the use of non-US bank accounts.What is a backup withholding exemption code on the Form W-9?
Under certain conditions, payees may be exempt from backup withholding. 5AVE.com requests and collects Form W-9s in order to file Form 1099-Ks, for those users who meet filing requirements. The three backup withholding exemption codes that are only available to eligible users and entity types are:- An organization exempt from tax under section 501(a), any IRA, or a custodial account under section 403(b)(7) if the account satisfies the requirements of section 401(f)(2).
- The United States or any of its agencies or instrumentalities.
- A state, the District of Columbia, a U.S. commonwealth or possession, or any of their political subdivisions or instrumentalities.
I’m a sole proprietor. Can I use an EIN instead of my SSN?
Yes. When you complete the W-9 form, we will need your legal first and last name, but you can also enter your “doing business as” (“DBA”) and EIN instead of your SSN. However, please note that the IRS encourages you to use your SSN.I am an owner/member of a Single Member LLC (SMLLC). Can I use an EIN instead of SSN?
Yes. When you complete the W-9 form, we will need your legal first and last name. If you have a single-member LLC that is a disregarded entity (meaning your SMLLC is treated as part of your own, individual income tax return), you may enter your SSN (or EIN, if you have one). However, please do not enter the disregarded entity’s EIN. You may also enter your business, trade, or “doing business as” (“DBA”) as well.Can other users see my address?
Only the buyer or seller can see your shipping address while a transaction is in progress. Once the transaction is complete, your address is no longer visible to them. Your address will also be visible on the shipping label.
Your address or other contact information is never available to users outside of transactions.
Conduct that may be harmful to the marketplace (Prohibited Conduct) includes asking for other customers’ contact information. To keep the marketplace safe for everyone, account privileges may be suspended or revoked for serious or repeat violations.
Can I use a PO Box address?
You can ship to a PO Box if you select the “Priority” option (USPS). The FedEx and UPS options do not allow for delivery to PO Boxes.
If FedEx and/or UPS is your only option and you don’t have an alternate address, or if USPS isn’t available in your area, ask the seller if they can relist the item with the “ship on your own” option. Then direct them to one of your local carriers.
Note: A tracking number is still required even when shipping on your own.
You could also ask your local Post Office if you can use a PO Box Street Address to receive FedEx deliveries.
